Who Am I?
So, who is this mysterious Angelo Bain fellow? Good question. I'm still trying to figure this out, myself. I suppose I am many things to many different people.
As a writer, I do not feel like I am genre locked. There is no subject off the table for me. If it can be thought about, it can be written into a story. I am an individual who isn't afraid to venture out into unknown territory, I actually welcome the challenge. Offer me a grain of sand and I'll make a castle out of it. I enjoy playing the devil's advocate with my stories, giving the reader a different perspective.
"To test the limits of the reader's imagination, first you have to test the limits of your own."
I believe this to be true. I've had to step outside of what I imagined I could write and embrace what I dreamed about writing. A lot of research goes into my stories, a ton actually. Because I always want the content and the flow to be just right. Oh, the curse of the writer. It seems like the end result is never good enough, always lacking in something. Could I have added better descriptors, unbelievable
situations, or possibly an added twist that would sucker punch you right between the eyes? Anything? My stories have gone through many, many different rewrites because of this curse. Each story I write is an escape. A place where the impossible can be possible. At times I feel like I could get lost in my newly created world and stay there until the very last page is written. But unfortunately, life still demands to be lived. I seem to have more ideas than time to write them all down. Inspiration can come at any time of day. Sometimes it's merely just a concept or two but other times it can be full blown dialog that requires pulling off to the side of the road to jot down before losing. I pour some of myself into the stories I write as well as some of the sayings, quirks, and characteristics of those around me. So, be forewarned if you talk to me, a part of you might just end up in my next work.

As a person, I enjoy being outdoors. Point me to the lake or river where I can cast my pole, float my kayak. or simply be, and I am there. The gem is finding the path, your path, be it dirt, paved, or mental adventure. Whether it is journeyed by four wheels, two, two and a motor, or simply on foot.
My musical interest stretches from one side of the spectrum to another. You name it, metal, country, classical, blues, hip hop, whatever, it all inspires me, not only in what I write but in life, in general. Music connects the soul to being alive and if you can feel it, instead of simply hearing it, you get it. If you know, you know.
â
As a parent, I am blessed with several little rug rats who have all grown and created their own. Their personalities and life antics have given me lots of subject matter to insert into my stories.

As a friend, well, what to say about this one? I hope I am someone who can make you laugh (what's life like without this?) as well as challenge your way of thinking. Two people can say the same thing but sometimes one needs to hear it from a slightly different angle.
The videos below are a compilation of the sounds I listen to while writing. Genre specific background noises to prime the creative juices. All rights and credit goes to each artist.
