[Words to image inspiration. This one was quite different for me. It's a bit twisted but isn't the look on her face?]
"One pot of warm stew, two bowls of cold. Have a sugary treat instead and you'll never ever grow old.
I haven't seen you sparkle today, Nilly. It's been almost a whole 24 hours since you've laughed and now the Ogres are on the move. Wouldn't you rather splash out in the rain with me and make them go away? Silly me, they never go away. We just always outrun them. What was I thinking?
He He.
Nilly, you've been listening to them much, too much, lately. And you know what happens when you do? Are you gonna make me say it? You get the dreadful wrinkles. And you know what happens when you do? Are you gonna make me say that, too? All of your glitter slides down the creases in your face, and it falls to the floor. And ... you know what happens when it does? (Whispers) You grow up. And the darkness comes.
Oh, dreadful, dreadful. Remember the last time the darkness came? Well, you started acting like one of them. You got all ugly and you didn't smile and you never went outside, and you got sleepy and you slept all day and, and ... and you just did!
But then you played with me and the darkness disappeared. If you want to do that again, I could keep the Ogres away. I know what makes them run, run away. It's ... (whispers) ... fun!
Remember that? Of course you do, Silly Nilly. We've had lots of fun ... just not lately.
Now, take my hand ... close your eyes ... and repeat after me ...
I can't see their faces.
I can't see their teeth.
I can't hear them roar no more.
Or smell them as they breathe.
I still got my glitter.
Now and forever more.
Not gonna listen to Ogres.
Not gonna do my chores.
The Darkness cannot find me.
Cause we know where to hide.
I'm safe with Emely Laughingstein.
And the Ogres they all died, died, died!
He He.
Wasn't that fun, Nilly? What? I know you have lots to do. But there's always something to be done. You're listening to the Ogres much, too much.
I know, you wanna see me bite their heads off, Nilly? Wouldn't that be fun? I will do it for you, Nilly, if it'll get you to play with me. Are you ready?
ONE!
This is gonna be so much fun.
TWO!
Are you watching, Nilly? I'm gonna bite them all off.
THREE ..."
[Emily represents our childlike nature. The Ogres are the cares and tasks of adulthood. The darkness comes when you get so caught up in grownup that you forget how to have fun. What Emily is about to do ...
well, that's just a bit twisted, like the look on her face.
